JOIN THE MOVEMENT
The Movement if it existed would be dedicated to the de-institutionalization of learning. It would seek to honour rational thinking beyond the constraints of dogma, propaganda and existing social and political institutions. It would be partially based in discovering the insights hidden in the works of such unlikely bedfellows as Ivan Illich, Saul Alinsky and Joseph Heller. It would seek to raise the endless global electronic chatter above the level of mind-numbing triviality. In a world where the control of information has become a major enterprise, the Movement would be dedicated to freedom of thought and unfettered access to information, so that rational rather than engineered conclusions could be drawn. It would be composed of Learning Webs and Guilds of people of all ages with similar concerns and interests freely associating and sharing. Above all, it would belong to its members young and old. Its power would be the human mind.
